After an early wake up call, the 3 of us cyclist joining the ride from the northern beaches of Sydney (teamc3of.com) drove down to C3 Mount Annan for a grand send off by the church and Oncology Children’s Foundation CEO Peter Neilson. We then rode the 147 kms along the Great Northern Road to our first stop at Windsor for lunch (and coffee), then along the Putty Rd to the Grey Gum Cafe climbing a total of over 1600 meters in the process. We enjoyed dinner outside under a beautiful clear sky with an amazing canopy of stars that we never get to enjoy in the city, and evening of chatting and making new friends in a blissful bubble sans cellphone and Internet access.
A very tired bunch of guys then retired to a huge tent to rest for the night – well at least as much as you possibly can in a space full of snoring guys. All in all, a great day was had by all.
